New to Ceroc?
[Home] [Where to dance?] [New to Ceroc?]

CEROC is the largest and fastest growing dance organisation in the UK.

Learning to partner dance with CEROC is fast becoming a dance phenomenon.

The style of dance taught at a CEROC class is a fusion of Jive & Salsa which is easy to learn, sociable, fun, and can be danced to any style of music.

A CEROC evening provides a great way to meet people, have fun and keep fit.

So why is Ceroc so great?

  • Complete beginners are welcome every week
  • It's fun and easy to learn and there are complete beginners every week so you are never alone.
  • It's primarily social, a complete night out

A typical Ceroc night

When you walk in the door, you will be met by our friendly crew who will explain what is going to happen and will help get you organised into the class. You can expect anything from 30 to 130 people in a class. You will be asked to complete a membership form which is a requirement of our insurance policy. You will be given a welcome pack which includes a beginners moves list, your membership card and a free beginners moves DVD!

Every Ceroc class night will start with a 45 minute beginners class. You will learn 4 easy beginners moves and by the end of the class you will be amazed how easy it is to be able to dance these simple moves to music.

After the class there is a 10 minute break to practice what you have just learnt. There are Taxi dancers on hand to help you with anything that you need to go over again.

Then the evening moves on to the second part. For dancers who are new or who have only been coming for a few weeks, there is a 30 minute review class where you will go over the whole beginners class again but in a much smaller group. There will be more chance for one on one attention. These review classes are great as they really help you get to grips with anything that you might have had trouble with.

Whilst this is going on, there will be an intermediate class in another room. Believe it or not after only 6 or 8 weeks you will be good enough to join in with the intermediate class. Yes this is how long it takes!!

After the classes the fun really beginners with up to one and a half hours of freestyle. This is when the lights come down, the music goes up and and the party begins. On your first night you will have learnt enough to be able to enjoy the freestyle period.

What to wear

Ceroc is energetic so expect to get at least warm. Wear comfortable casual clothing and maybe bring a change of top. We recommend comfortable shoes, at this level no special clothing or shoes are required, just be relaxed. However we would recommend that ladies do NOT wear high heels or trainers. You will be making a few turns and the occasional spin. Rubber soles may put too much pressure on your knees.

Cost

Your first night at a Ceroc class will cost you £7 plus £3 membership. On your first night you will receive a beginners discount so you next 6 visits will only cost you £5 a night. After the 6 weeks there are all types of discounts schemes. Some of these could bring an evenings cost down to only £3. You could of course never have to pay at all. We run a continual offer whereby if you bring a new person along you will come in for free.

What are you waiting for? Get out there and try it!
